Hiking and VTT

On the west of Toulouse, the banks of the Touch offer themselves to the walk between Lardenne and Saint-Martin du Touch. The way was arranged on five kilometers so that everyone finds it pleasurable there. Feasible for the cyclists on mountain bikes, it also offers an ideal ground for family strolls or for the Sunday morning runner. Poplars, alders, and acacias bring a pleasant shade under which hide benches for lovers or tables for picnics. The course thus allows one to follow the river. La Ramée sports and leisure centre

This leisure centre in the southwest of the city is the vastest " green lung " of the city.A big lake allows the practice of various sports such as windsurfing and canoeing. Canal du Midi

Conceived in the 17th century by Pierre-Paul Riquet, the Canal du Midi connects Toulouse to Sète, at the edge of the Mediterranean. 240 kilometers of channel, 14 years of work, 12,000 workmen, 45,000 trees planted, 350 built works of art (bridges, locks, aqueducts): the figures give an idea of the bredth of the work of Riquet. Downstream from Toulouse, the Canal du Midi was extended in the 19th century by the Canal de la Garonne in the direction of the Atlantic.
